About This Dog for Adoption

Pugsy's ideal home

If you are looking for a cheerful companion who is always up for a bit of fun, Pugsy might be your boy! This sweet and playful Pug is full of charm and would love a home where his friendly nature and love of games can really shine. Aged around two years, Pugsy could live with children aged 8 and up, as long as they are respectful of his space, especially when he is feeling a little unsure.
He can live with another dog but would also be perfectly happy as the only pet in the home. Pugsy is generally relaxed around dogs and enjoys meeting new people too, provided visitors are calm and gentle with their greetings.
He is not used to being left on his own, so any time left alone should be built up gradually. Pugsy is not a fan of going to the vet and will need to be muzzled for handling, but our team will guide you through everything you need to know to help him feel safe and supported.

Could you be Pugsy's perfect match?

Full of life and always up for a cuddle, Pugsy is a total sweetheart once he feels comfortable. He has been friendly with everyone he has met at the centre and is keen to get involved in everything going on around him. He enjoys exploring new places and is always up for a game of chase or a burst of play with his toys.
Pugsy is comfortable around traffic, but may need a helping hand getting in and out to of the car. He knows the basics (like “sit”) and would love a family who can keep building on that with fun training games and plenty of positive reinforcement. A moderate amount of daily exercise, along with a bit of mental stimulation, will keep this lovely boy happy and content.
Pugsy has already won over plenty of hearts – and now he is ready to find his very own forever family.

Pug Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Pug.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Pug Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
