About This Dog for Adoption

Wade's ideal home

Meet Wade, he’s an endearing Pug cross, who often finds the big wide world overwhelming. He’s hoping to find patient, understanding adopters, who can allow him to take things at his own pace, while supporting with his confidence. Originally found as a stray, we have limited information on Wade’s background, but our team have been getting to know him and learning all about what we believe will make for his ideal home. Due to the lack of history and Wade’s sensitive character, we feel he would be best suited to a home where the youngest family members are in their later teens and able to learn about his body language, while being respectful of his space. Wade seems conflicted around other dogs and often wants to say hello but gets worried once he approaches. He’ll benefit from building on his canine social skills and will need to be the only pet at home. Short walks in quiet areas are best for Wade, due to pain in his joints, and worries around loud or busy environments. Wade can be picky with his meals but is always keen for treats when he’s doing his training or when on his walks. He can be ‘snatchy’ at times and would prefer to eat in a quieter area of the house, where he won’t be disturbed.

Could you be Wade's perfect match?

Once you’ve earned Wade’s trust, he’ll likely enjoy snuggling up in your lap for a fuss and relaxing in your company while having a snooze. When he’s not revelling in all the attention, Wade LOVES to play with his toys and is the sweetest to watch while he’s playing independently; he can often be found throwing his toys around and catching them again! When interacting with his humans, ‘fetch and swap’ is the best way to play, as he can feel unsure when people take things off him. Enrichment activities, such as destruction boxes, kongs, and puzzles feeders, will all be brilliant to keep him busy and should help him to feel less anxious. If you would like more information about adopting any of our dogs, or you are considering a variety of dogs and would like our team’s help to find your pawfect match, we would love you to visit us at our rehoming centre to chat with us in person. We are open between 12pm and 4pm every day, except for Wednesdays and Fridays when we are closed.
